The Illinois Century Network (ICN)

is pleased to partner with and support the Illinois Computing Educators (ICE) by providing the broadband connectivity for this year's TECH 2016

"Students for the Information Age"

event. Each spring, Illinois students and educators showcase projects and activities that exhibit innovation and creativity, while also emphasizing the critical role that technology plays within education.

TECH 2016 provides teachers and students an opportunity to voice the importance of technology in schools. Technology is not equally present in all Illinois schools. As a result, students from districts without up-to-date technology face a serious disadvantage that could negatively impact their future.

This event will focus on the necessity to develop a plan to promote adequate, equalized and reliable funding to meet school technology needs. The event is scheduled Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the Illinois State Capitol.
